Greetings and
welcome to the fiscal year 2007 of the North Carolina
Agricultural and Technical State University Alumni
Association, Incorporated – Greater Los Angeles Chapter. As
before, it is an honor to server the chapter in the Office
of the President.
The past fiscal
year was a victorious one. The “Dawn of a New Chapter”
theme a perfect fit. Last year included programs, events,
members, support persons, and financial responsibility. The
chapter has recruited students for admission to NC A&T,
exposed students in Los Angeles to the university,
participated in college fairs, created newsletters, travel
to meetings, conducted fundraisers, and left money for the
next fiscal year. After a year like the previous one, its
only appropriate that the next year be a continuation of
what has happened and where we should be. Welcome to a new
year, “Creating the Blue-Print for the Future!”
For fiscal year
2007, we will again focus on the following directives:
implement organizational structure, increase chapter
exposure, manage membership recruitment, produce financial
vitality, and improve chapter communications. If we, as a
chapter, commit ourselves to the implementation of these
five directives, we will become a noticeable and influential
force in the city of Los Angeles and set the chapter in the
appropriate direction for the future..
We will continue
to hold events in the LA area and we look forward to
expansion of membership and areas for events. Also, we are
going to set forth a plan for the next five years and set
goals for the chapter’s future. This will result in the
creation of the Chapter Long-Range Plan, which will updated
every year and the vision will be modified every five
years. Members of the chapter will be the ones whom create
this document and plan the chapter’s future. With dedicated
members and supporters, the chapter will continue to change
the community and strengthen the University.
God has given
this chapter a purpose and ability to be great. We will
continue to be great with support and membership. We
accomplished so much with only twenty-three (23) members
last year, and as the membership grows, we will only do more
each year. So, the chapter is fulfilling the mission of the
Alumni Association – to encourage and promote involvement of
the University alumni and other supporters by meeting the
needs of alumni and other supporters for alumni services;
creating opportunities for participation of alumni and other
supporters in the life of the University; and developing and
disseminating information that communicates to alumni, other
supporters, and the general public, the academic excellence
of the University.
Once again, we
are looking forward to a phenomenal year where we reach new
heights and accomplish goals. The question is, do you have
what it takes to be a part of this great movement on behalf
of the North Carolina A&T State University Alumni
Association, Incorporated? If so, we look forward to your
input and anticipate the impact.
You will hear a
lot of this during the year, so say it loud and say it
proud….. AGGIE PRIDE!!!!
