Letter from the president

Greetings! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as the 2003 – 2004 Alumni Chapter President. We have been busy transitioning into our new offices and planning meetings and activities for the group. We had to overcome a few challenges and now we are motivated and ready to move forward.

One of our first tasks was to develop a mission statement that embodies our goals for the organization.

We strive to provide a forum for Aggies to fellowship, recruit new A&T students, promote the University through community events, and contribute funds for university growth and development.

We have planned several activities for the remainder of the year that will help us realize the objectives above. In order to make this vision a reality, we need your help and support. I strongly urge you to attend our next meeting on August 31, 2003. I am looking forward to meeting each of you personally. Thanks and enjoy!

Corporal Mark Anthony Bibby

We dedicate this volume of LA Aggies to Corporal Mark Bibby who was killed on July 21, 2003 while serving our country in Iraq. We honor his memory and courage. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Bibby family.

A&T to Build Alumni Center

The next time you visit A&T you will notice that the campus probably looks really different from when you attended school there. There are new academic buildings, dormitories and walkways all over campus. Now, plans are underway the build a 2.5 million alumni center on Bluford Street near the center of campus. The alumni center will serve as a place for alumni to gather together and fellowship with each other and as a welcome center for university guests.
